Outerbridge Magic is proud to release The Time Machine with permission from Jim Steinmeyer. The Time Machine was inspired by the H.G Wells novel and is based on Jim Steinmeyer’s brilliant The Lady in the Puzzle illusion from his book Device and Illusion.  We have modified the methodology so that all the blocks can be moved after the woman has vanished. We have also given the illusion a Victorian design with steampunk influences. It is constructed almost entirely of aluminum, brass and birch with many fine details including 30 flashing 1-watt LEDs and hundreds of stainless steel carriage bolts, hand-finished to give them a distressed look.

A woman enters The Time Machine, and five blocks (we call them “chrono-modulators”) are placed into the machine forming the year 1960. When the blocks are removed the woman has vanished… into the 1960s. The blocks are returned into the machine forming the word “NOW”, and when they are removed the woman returns to the present day, reappearing in a new costume… from the 1960s.

The Time Machine will accommodate a 5’6″ 130-pound woman but it can be modified to fit different sizes.
